(1990) Misery

Kathy Bates absolutely steals the show here and is a surprisingly terrifying villain. The entire movie is fairly straightforward but its biggest strengths lie in instances where characters behave the exact way you’d like them to.

I found myself thinking James Caan’s character should go along with her antics to play it safe, while at other times I was wishing he would make a move and try to get away from her. Usually in those moments, things played out just how I wanted them to. That’s not to say this movie was overly predictable, it was just a character driven horror-thriller as opposed to a film that relied heavily on the story arc.

So yeah, it’s Stephen King, obviously check it out.
