The Canal is for the most part, a fairly boring slow burn horror. I dig slow burns a lot but it’s a difficult type of film to pull off.
I think it was the slow pacing coupled with the choice of color palette that kind of made me lose interest at one point.
The ending is definitely worth mentioning though, pretty wild and very satisfying. It definitely saved the movie from being a strong pass for me. It’s kind of difficult for me to say whether some elements were a nod to Ringu/The Ring or sort of a rip-off, I’m more apt to say it was the latter.
Anyways, let’s see what we have here. I guess it’s not that good? Yeah, it’s not that good. It’s not terrible though, worth a watch maybe, I don’t even know.
