(1984) Countdown to Looking Glass

This one is quite as dramatized as Threads but it’s incredibly realistic. This would have scared the shit out of me as a kid if I saw it when it came out.

For anyone who’s not familiar at all with these types of docudrama tv-movies, a lot of their modern day success relies on that expert, realistic tension. I think this film does that really well. I actually shook a bit right at the end. Nuclear war has always been a very powerful thing to me. It’s a feasible way another nation can compromise our security.

Overall, a great film that displays the decisions and conflict that could lead up to nuclear war. It’s hard to find a copy of this but it’s uploaded in full length on youtube right now for anyone who wants to peep it.
